San Joaquin late Thomas O.Griffith, which took place at Mariposa on Thursday last, we were pleased to see that the people of that town and vicinity have taken such an interest in their cemetery, and they may well be proud of their successful efforts to have a quiet, beautiful place to leave the remains of their friends and love ones. We did not have time to go through the lovely sequestered grounds, but observed that there were very many beautiful and costly marble monuments, and many simple ones, and that
many of the graves were kindly cared for by the hands of those who were left to mourn. The grounds are quite extensive and the situation is lovely. The Citizens' cemetery is separated by a neat, white fence, from the different society cemeteries, and the whole surrounded by a grove of grand pines, and has a restful, peaceful, quiet look, and speaks volumes for the good taste and sentiment of the good people of the far up mountain town.-
