This  photo taken in 1920 of children on a donkey going to school I think. The story Grandma told me was that she lived 7 miles from the Quartzburg school house. She would start out early in the morning and go by different childrens homes and pick them up on the way. Usually she would lead the donkey while the smaller children rode. Kind of a small bus, huh? At least they didn't have to worry about pot holes. The stockings and the shoes on these kids really make a fashion statement !!
