Crocker Huffman Dam, 1907
Post card of the Crocker Huffman Dam, between Merced Falls and Snelling-Courtesy of Lois Lord Jackson and John Lathrop
Lois Jackson writes: To get to my fathers ranch (Samuel J Lord) we had to go across it from the highway between Merced Falls and Snelling by the Spears Ranch- The plates are down in this picture and I believe it has been taken in the winter  as that is when they are put down-We had to row across to get to school and the other way it goes out is along a canal that came out of the Merced River, (thro Dad's property that went to Lake Yosemite in Merced)-to near Snelling. Sometimes walked across when the water was barely going over the dam and walked to Merced Falls to school (Approx. 3 miles).
