"Located in the famous Yosemite Valley, in Mariposa county and on the Merced
river, 51 miles via mail stage route northeast of Mariposa, the county seat.
The valley is managed by the Yosemite Valley Commissioners, appointed by the
State. It is reached via Raymond the nearest railroad point, and from thence
be stage 65 miles via Wawona and Big Trees: also via Milton and thence be
stage 85 miles. Tri-weekly mail for May 1st to November 1st, and semi-weekly
for Nov. 1st to May 1st."
